2024 Collector Edition Porsche 356 Outlaw From Kroger

By Mattel Creations Staff

One of the most thrilling times for us each year is the development and unveiling of our latest Collector Editions. For 2024, the excitement is at an all-time high, as we continue the series in partnership with the Kroger family of stores. Your new opportunity to build your collection opens with the purchase of $20 of select Hot Wheels. (See details below.)

Our mail-in promo casting will arrive in regal style, as only a Porsche can. This 356 Outlaw is nothing short of spectacular. Beaming in Spectraflame red, the only thing as eye-catching as its paint job are its Real Riders classic 4-spoke chrome wheels. We added racing stripes and a rich golden Hot Wheels logo to put our latest Outlaw in a class by itself. Make it a new star in your collection and grab the cars you need from participating Kroger stores to get this mail-in exclusive.

Porsche 356 Outlaw Specs:

  • Body Color: Spectraflame red
  • Graphics: Authentic manufacturer logos, Hot Wheels logo, #2
  • Body Type: ZAMAC
  • Wheels: Real Riders classic 4-spoke wheels
  • Base: Full-metal, zinc-plated chassis
  • Window Color: Clear
  • Interior Color: Black

What if I accidentally used my Ralph’s rewards card? Price before tax was 1.50 a piece so got 16. Pre-tax it’s about 24 but after discount and tax went up to about 20.77. Should I still buy more ??

I didn't see that anyone responded to your question yet.  The rules say in the first line "buy $20.00 (before taxes)".  So if you did get 16 @ $1.50 then you met the $20 before taxes minimum.  However if your discount card took the price to $1.18, then 16 @ $1.18 then you did not meet the $20 before taxes minimum. ($18.88)  You would need to buy more.  Keep in mind you will STILL need to send in 20 (twenty) blister cards along with the receipts.

Is there any possible way to get it without going to a Kroger store and not buying from a reseller?

No.  The point of the mail in promotion is that you are sending in receipts from the company with whom the promotion is with.  The receipts have barcodes that are used to track the validity of the purchase. If the purchase cannot be verified with the company the promotion is through, then the receipt is not valid and your order will be rejected.

There are some folks who get receipts from friends or family who live in an area where a Kroger affiliate store is located. I don't believe there is an active effort that is engaged to stop this practice, since product still has to be purchased through their business partners.  Its a win win for all people concerned.

Hi, I replied to the person you originally responded to.  In case you don't see my response to them, I am replying to yours as well.

The Team Transport series are NOT considered multipacks.  I think there is some confusion in folks understanding the rules of purchase vs the rules of the mail in redemption.  Section 3 (three) of the rules references the Qualifying Products clause of section 1 (one).  What they are saying is; only blister cards that are classified as the "Qualifying Products" are what can be used for the mail in redemption.

As for what counts towards the $20 is any Hot Wheels 1:64th product.  This excludes launchers, tracks, carrying cases, city sets, etc.  Your Team Transport purchases can be used towards your required $20 proof of purchase, but NOT towards the mail in redemption.   You can include this receipt plus any other receipt with relevant purchases to get you to the $20 required goal.  However you still will need to send in 20 (twenty) "Qualified" blister cards. (cardboard backs or multipack boxes).

In your example the purchases on the receipts wouldn't match the cards that you are including with the mailer, which seems like a risk in case they reject it. Additionally, I reached out to Mattel customer support and they responded with the following:

I understand that you have a question regarding the Official Rules of our 2024 Hot Wheels HTF95 - Porsche 356 Outlaw Promotion. I’ll be able to assist.

Multipack numbers mean that there are several cars being sold in one pack, or, let's say, that in one blister card there are three or more vehicles.

I’ve looked into this to see if the multipack that you bought was eligible for the promotion. Regrettably, it’s not part of our promotion. These are the qualifying product numbers for our promotion: Hot Wheels® 1:64 basic cars and/or multipacks from 2020 to present assortment numbers 5785, C4982, L2593, HMW97 and HWW95 or multipack numbers, 1806, HPV78 and/or H7045 (“Qualifying Products”) from participating Kroger Family of Stores and its banners*.

You can find the product numbers just above the barcode or UPC Code.

I hope this helps. Thank you for reaching out to us today.

Best Wishes,

I'll throw my 2 cents in as well. You have to mail the entire card to receive the promo, 20$ worth of them per car. Any mainline hot wheels from 2021 or later will work, don't hold me to it but I'm sure it goes by manufacturers date on the card back; 2021 or later. Factory sets with stickers will work as long you REMOVE the sticker. Hope this helps someone, here's a picture.

For starters its strange that the Mattel customer service guy has the same name and last initial I do. That is great that they replied to you.

Secondly he confirmed what I said.  That the Team Transport blister pack is not eligible as a multipack that can be mailed back. I should point out that many of the premium singles are also not eligible.  Such as the spring series, fast and furious, and batman.  However they are bundled in the kroger display for a reason.  Its be cause the sale of these goes towards the $20 total.

As to the issue of the receipt discrepancy, the receipt itself only records the barcode of the item. Not the unique casting, tampo, date, or Assortment Number.  So when checked they are looking to have excluded the larger items like tracks, but rather to include 1:64 castings.  What gets sent in does not need to match the receipt.  For example.  I could buy 4 5packs from Kroger, give them as a birthday present to my nephew.  And then mail in 20 blister cards with matching assortment numbers that I bought at Target 2 years ago with my order.  Mixing and matching of the blister cards frequently occurs in these mail in offers.  As long as they meet the requirements set in the rules they will be accepted.  In this case a receipt totaling $20 in purchase of 1:64th scale vehicles, and blister cards with matching assortment number and date.

If there is any doubt about what was purchased, buy more to cover the spread.  If your not sure about a blister card not being up to snuff because the barcode was torn off, send in another blister card.  I have done this myself.  Sent in 21 cards instead of 20.

The form link is not working.   When I click the link, it takes me to the Mattel Parts Store.  It wants me to add the Porsche to the shopping cart, but the price is $0.00 not $7.00.    Plus there is not form to fill out like I have for previous mail-ins.    I saw in earlier comments that the link was not working, but there was a reply on 4/29 that the links should work -- but it does not.        -- Thank you

Actually, that is exactly how the form works.  The car is $0.  The shipping and handling cost is $7 per item.  This charge is added at step 3 of the online form.  The steps are noted 1-4 in the top right corner of the form.  I'm not entirely sure where the confusion is because the form has always been a function of the Parts Store.

  1. is quantity.
  2. is contact info & Shipping.
  3. is billing/pay method. (this is where it applies the $7s&h * Car)
  4. is order confirmation and printable mail in application

I hope this helps.

This is incorrect. The purchase of any Team Transports or Batman etc series does NOT count towards the $20.00 total. From the rules...

buy $20.00 (before taxes) of Hot Wheels® 1:64 basic cars and/or multipacks from 2020 to present assortment numbers 5785, C4982, L2593, HMW97 and HWW95 or multipack numbers, 1806, HPV78 and/or H7045 (“Qualifying Products”)

Can't be any simpler. Anything bought outside of those limits doesn't count. And if you're buying multi packs, you need to send in UPCs from  multi packs. Mixing mainline cards with multi pack receipts is likely to get your mail in request denied.

I see Harris Teeter is not on the list. It was purchased by Kroger. Does that in turn make it part of the family for this promotion to count?

Hi Michael...Yes.  Whoever generated the list of stores that is located at the top of the comments section has not updated the list for us folks located in Harris Teeter country.  Harris Teeter was accepted last year and is specifically spelled out here for 2024:

Could contain: Chart, Plot, Measurements

I called Mattel and Kroger last year to verify.  I mailed my HT receipt and card backs just a little while ago at the P.O. for 2024.

Good luck, you have a bit more time to purchase cars at HT, but one store west of Charlotte had none, another had a depleted shipper with older cars.  All the card backs I mailed in were dated 2021 also, fyi.

Yeah 👍.... Here's a thought as long as you have a...or several current receipts equaling 20 cars from the purchase period the back card code shouldn't matter as about a year ago I found some 50 anniversary cards on the shelf at my local Ralph's I've noticed at that store it seems like they have many returns in the Hot Wheels often . I'm guessing if someone sent one of those old cards in because they didn't know probably would have been denied even though they bought all twenty cars at the same time!

Not everyone is so Hot Wheels savvy!🤷
