If a supermodel was a sports car, no doubt you’d be seeing the sultry red 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1 on fashion runways and red carpets. Why? Because everywhere it drives, anyone who sees it will stop and stare, and it gets the heart racing for anyone lucky enough to spend time with it. Showcasing Japanese innovation and engineering at its finest with twin sequential turbochargers that pumped out 255 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque, this lightweight curvaceous coupe stole the spotlight when it hit the U.S. auto market in the 1990s.
To honor its rightful place in auto history, we’ve cast this stylish coupe in exacting detail for our RLC exclusive edition. From the enhancement of the rear wing to front chin lip spoiler, our designers captured its aerodynamic essence in 1:64 scale. The sequential turbos that powered it from 0-60 in 5 seconds can be found under the opening hood, and the lightweight 16-inch, five-spoke aluminum wheels have been recreated with our Real Riders 5-spoke modern wheels.
This fiery car also features bright red Spectraflame paint over a die-cast body and matte black chassis, and an unrelenting demand to take center stage on any shelf display. Like the real-world coupe that inspired it, our RLC exclusive 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1 is destined for greatness.
