Strike Fast: 2023 RLC Membership ’93 Ford Cobra R

By Gary Barnum

Celebrate your Red Line Club membership for 2023 with a commemorative collectible. The ’93 Ford Cobra R is our annual club car, making its second Mattel Creations appearance (it debuted in 2021). For some of you, this may be your first member-exclusive offer, so be ready to strike on 2/28/23.

After a decade without a Cobra, Ford’s Special Vehicles Team (SVT) introduced the Cobra and Cobra R in 1993. The Cobra R was stripped down to a lean machine, ready to race—which explains the “R.” This speedy snake reportedly went from 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The car had some fangs.

This killer casting features an opening hood, exposing the engine and its painted details. Our graphics team gave it a slick look in Spectraflame true black, adding Real Riders 6-spoke wheels. And since this edition pays tribute to the Red Line Club for the year, we’re including both an embroidered patch and a glossy pin to honor 2023. Make this Cobra the king of your collection!

Why are some members already getting their mustang and some are not? I have no notifications at all on mine and I ordered mine in the first 3 minutes. Some say they are getting a free one too. why? Maybe the free ones were meant for the ones that have not got there's yet. So, what's going on Mattel?
