In 1962, Plymouth redesigned their signature mid-size sedan. It featured a full unibody construction, a lighter curb weight, and a newly designed "Maximum Performance" 413-cid V8 powerplant (fittingly called the Max Wedge engine). The Savoy turned out to be a family-friendly car that would also dominate the drag strips.
This long-bodied model helped to define an era of sports cars. Sure, it may have been parked in suburban driveways, but it was the car to beat at drag strips throughout the country. And whether it was driven cross-country or for a quarter mile, the Savoy had heads turning and feet stomping. Â
Our edition is a 1:64 scale tribute to the colorful drag racers of the era. With a neon Spectraflame anti-freeze color scheme and authentic racing logos, this mean green machine is impossible to ignore. Â
