For the Fans: RLC Exclusive Custom Eldorado!

By Allen Voivod

Hot Wheels debuted with a roar in 1968, and ignited the excitement of a generation! Over the years, one particular group of cars has captured the hearts of collectors like no other: castings released to Red Line Club members with Spectraflame pink paint. Now, we're thrilled to present one of the "Original 16" cars in this signature color! The RLC Exclusive Custom Eldorado pulls into the online shop on November 2, 2021.

You'll notice the striking Spectraflame pink paint job on this casting, and there's a specific reason for it. If you're new to Hot Wheels collecting, though, you may need a little background first. We'll let designer Brendon Vetusky elaborate on this particular tradition. "The pink 'Party' Cars have a long history in the RLC line. The pink part of it, I believe, ties back to the legacy of the rare pink Redline Era Hot Wheels cars. Not as many of those survived over they years, so they have become extra collectible as a result."

Adding to that, graphic designer Steve Vandervate says, "They wear a consistent Spectraflame pink and white + Red Line deco to unify the theme. We do other pink cars occasionally, but they intentionally don’t look anything like the 'Party' Cars."

We also asked about the choice of this casting. "Pink Cadillac!" Vetuskey says immediately. "Pink Cadillacs are a thing, and have been for many years. You see them in pop culture as featured in TV and movies, and songs are written about them, too. So it seemed fitting that since we offer a pink Party Car, why not offer up a pink Cadillac? Besides, the Custom Eldorado is a great casting, so this was an opportunity to bring it back into the line and let it shine."

Some Hot Wheels fans might want this casting because they're completists who want to collect one of each of these unique Spectraflame pink offerings. And if you're specifically an Eldorado fan, you'll definitely be knocked off your feet by this edition. But if you're not already a member of the Red Line Club, you'll need to join before you can add this exclusive to your collection!

Why 5 per household, y'all know most folks don't have five 18+ year old members in a home. If you want to share the wealth let's get this changed. If you limit it to two per household that will double the amount of households that get some. At least it will give the appearance that your trying to be fair to your paid members.

I used to rent a 4bed house and live with 5 other friends back in college (much cheaper than dorm)... luckily there was no RLC back then

First off, who said anything about being fair? I (singular) was making a suggestion to give paying customers a better shot of getting something they paid for. Beings how this is now an UNLIMITED membership site, it would be nice if they revisited their 5 per household policy. Thank you.

I'm new, what is the checkout process for these? Is it pretty obvious once it's available or do I have to search for it?

once the count down timer ends , the page will refresh with a buy now button , that will add the car to your cart , then when you check out it will ask you to do a caption , then you are put in a wait room til its your turn to checkout

guess you want  piece of mind with no real effect on your chances of getting one . stand by my statement changing policies to appease some is never a good idea , causes more problems then it solves. if anything they will go to the pre-order model, other companies are doing the same .

You think the majority of members wants 5 per household?
