NBC is about to give Hot Wheels superfans the opportunity of a lifetime in “Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge,” an epic car makeover competition series. You can catch new episodes on Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC beginning Tuesday, May 30.

Could contain: Coat, Jacket, Pants, Adult, Male, Man, Person, Blazer, Female, Woman

Hosted by Rutledge Wood (“Top Gear US,” “Floor Is Lava”), who will also serve as one of the show’s judges, each episode invites two contestants into the “Chrome Zone.” There, they’ll face off by transforming an ordinary vehicle into an extraordinary Hot Wheels showstopper. Those cars will be nostalgic rides from their past, and the changes they make will be inspired by personal stories and pop culture touchstones.

Could contain: Coat, Adult, Female, Person, Woman, Male, Man, People, Jacket, Glasses

They’ll get an assist along the way, thanks to a team of automotive magicians known as “The Car Pool.” With their help, the contestants will create their designs in high-tech, decked-out garages. To raise the stakes, these superfans will also face the “Inspirationator 5000,” a larger-than-life vending machine that revs up in each episode to present a surprise twist.

Could contain: Architecture, Building, Kiosk, Indoors

Riding shotgun will be a rotating panel of celebrity guest judges, joining resident experts Hertrech (“Hert”) Eugene Jr., an influencer in car culture and the drift scene, and Dalal Elsheikh, designer for the Ford Motor Company and Hot Wheels Brand Ambassador. Wood, Eugene Jr., and Elsheikh, along with the celebrity guests, will review the transformations and crown a winner for each show.

Episode winners take home $25,000 and earn the chance at a spot in the season finale. The selected finalists will compete for an additional $50,000 and the honor of having their design made into an official Hot Wheels die-cast car. You’ll be able to get that car for your own collection, too – it’ll be sold at Mattel Creations following the season finale on August 8th.

Mark your calendars, set your DVRs, and add “Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge” to your watch list. The high-octane fun begins May 30 at 10/9c on NBC.

“Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge” is an original format developed and produced by Endemol Shine North America in association with Workerbee under license from Mattel Inc.

J.M.O., Watched about 7 or 8 minutes then switched channels, not very

interesting, what would be interesting is to see the history of some of the castings and their designers!

And a more detailed process of how they are made!!  😃

OK, so I watched the show..  and that girl that designed the camaro was robbed.

every thing she said she wanted to do with the car she did, and it was all functional. and  when the mystery  component was added, she found a way to incorporate it into her design. adding an extended spoiler to the nose, and a big spoiler to the rear. , with out a single complaint.

the charger cheated by using jacks to lift the body, it did not actually pop a wheely.

and the guy balked about the mystery challenge, and then did as minimal as possible. stating he did not want to change the looks of the car .  there is absolutely no way that charger should have won. he did not meet any of the criteria except putting the engine in the trunk. and they did not even show if it ran..

all things being judged equally, the girl 's finished camaro, did the better job at being what she said she wanted, and meeting what hot wheels said they wanted. so she should have won.

The show is kinda wack and the judges are a joke! The young lady with the Camaro was robbed! She turned her car into a work of art. Her competition was lazy and week! Besides a cool paint job, he didn't do anything spectacular! His entire plan surrounded the car pulling a wheelie! The Charger didn't do a wheelie, those jacks sitting on the floor did all the work! They threw in the Mystery Challenge and she followed the instructions, old boy didn't! Those judges are as bad as the Legends Tour judges! Hopefully they get their act together!

Was a little disappointed.  Was looking forward to seeing true Hotwheels collectors getting a chance to build their hotwheel dream car and getting their hands dirty doing it (wasn't the case) It seemed Way to staged. The young lady was more into standing around watching unlike the older gentlemen that wanted to help. the Cuda was cool. But the all around show its self was a letdown. Hope it gets better.

I have tried watching this show multiple times.  This show sucks.  Boring.  Almost as bad as the ID series where everyone loved the cars but the game was boring.  Stick to making cars Hot Wheels.
