We love our Hot Wheels, but some of us have a special affinity for variations. It actually started as something that happened on purpose, then it became something accidental, now it might be either. Well, these are on purpose! And you can only get them in these special cases at participating Kroger Family of Stores locations or on Kroger.com. But there are four different variations in these cases!
Now, you might ask yourself “What’s a variation?” Well, variations are essentially as old as Hot Wheels themselves. You see, a variation is when the same edition or release of a casting is changed in some way for a number of pieces. Maybe the color changes. Maybe the wheels change. There are numerous small ways in which an edition can change and still be the same edition, but if it changes – and numerous pieces are released with the change – those are variations!
In the first year of Hot Wheels, all of the Original 16 Hot Wheels were intentionally released in multiple colors, in multiples, and so the first variations were essentially born! Later, a variation might be cause because the production plant ran out of a type of wheel and had to swap midway through a production run. Variation! Or they had to change the interior color for some reason. Variation! Now, though, we often use the same deco scheme, but we change the base color and create special variations such as these. Enough history. You want to know what four variations are in these cases, don’t you?
