THE CAR THAT GOTHAM CITY™ VILLAINS FEAR MOST!

By Gary Barnum

You’d keep the streets of Gotham City™ clean, too, if you were cruising in this slick ride! Batman™ has had a Batmobile™ since about 1940, but this Classic TV Series Batmobile™ has likely been the most favored and iconic of them all. This version was brought to life for the 1960s television show, designed by customizing legend George Barris. Rarely seen in anything but black, we’re loving the blue/black comic book look of this RLC Exclusive edition.

Barris famously based his design on the 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept Car, a road rocket of its own. In fact, rockets fire from tubes behind the cockpit! Other tricks he installed include a cable cutter and bulletproof plexi-glass bubble windshields. Our 1:64 edition was designed by Phil Riehlman in 2007, and we’re still thrilled for new editions to come tearing out of the Batcave™-- er, Design Center.

The Spectraflame steel blue finish on this edition is accented by a red BATMAN™ logo on the hood and sides with red linework on the front, sides, and rear with a matte black-painted chassis. Featuring Neo-Classics Redline wheels and full-metal construction, this 1:64 piece includes light smoke-tinted windows and a black interior with blue-painted seats and a red-painted siren dome. It’s suspended on an illustrated RLC blister card within a Kar Keepers clamshell case.

Sadly, no quantity listed. Maybe it will appear prior to sale launch once minds are made up? Since it's a cross-over piece there are at least 2 fan bases...

Awesome with neo's...

R.R. enthusiasts can still locate the red mail away red line version along with the classic Black, Black walled verion(s) in the acrylic case. Up until George's passing Black was the only color he allowed. Once his daughter took control cash became king & the select rainbow began...red, red/black, chrome, gold chrome, green, pink, gray, zamac, blue iD, black chromey....

Saw George @ the DCX Show way back in '07 when the 'New Model'/'First Edition' hit. I'd brought both card versions with that weekend to get autographed & his daughter wanted 10 bucks per. He was not yet stocked with it & had offered him some in trade for his sig. Both parties were happy except for his daughter as she didn't like giving away his sig for a buck, 9 bucks shy. He was particularly happy to have both U.S. & International card versions. That show George let me sit in the car with him. That was a treat but sadly his daughter did not allows a pic to be taken. iPhones & Androids were NOT common place back then, now they are ubiquitous.

Steel Blue spectraflame is sweet, imo

BOL TO ALL

I just hope Mattel is ready with at least 30K of this item.  This is a must on almost any collector book.

I'm sure they have more than enough...

I dont think these will be numbered mark. One reseller has them in hand with no sticker. He has done this before apparently has had stickers on the others. I emailed him and asked where's the stickers. He said this one wont have any. I'm inclined to believe him. So the count on this may be a mystery....we shall see....

Must agree, its getting a little old but of course I'll end up getting one just to have the variation.  The Walmart one looks like the mail away isn't it ? At least it does to me must've had plenty of left overs that they are now selling them on Walmarts site.

The release says it´s only one per member. Usually when this limit is set, you have an immediate notification that you reached the allowed limit when you try to buy another one.

This case is different. For some reason when you try to buy a second one there is no warning.

Still I´m not trying to buy a second one and get red handed breaking the rules.

just sayin....
